We like a little healthy competition in the Credit Karma office. But who ever heard of competing in credit scores? Well, since it’s what we do best, we decided to give it a shot, pitting our “under 30? team members against our “over 30? team members.
You’ll have to wait till next Friday to see who wins, but first, let’s see how the young’uns fare.

Credit Health To-Do: I want to open a new credit card to continue building my credit. I’ve only ever used credit minimally, so it’s time to start working on my credit in a more proactive way.
Best Money Tip: Save up cash for big items. Thanks to my parent’s money-saving ways, I hope to always keep debts to a minimum, only taking on a mortgage and maybe a car payment (eventually).

Credit Health To-Do: Pay off some leftover credit card debt from college; it’s been weighting me down for a while, and my New Year’s resolution this year was to dump it all by September. And I’m making my way there.
Best Money Tip: Money is just green printed paper. Value and worth is what you do with it.

Credit Health To-Do: Age. If I have several different accounts aging at the same time, I won’t have to worry about the closure of a single card wiping out my credit history.
Best Money Tip: The best practical, yet uncommon money management tactic I’ve used so far is ING DIRECT. Yeah, seriously. Once you’ve created an account with them, you can open another savings account in just a couple of clicks–literally a matter of seconds. I use these extra accounts, each with its own nickname, as partitions for my savings.
